Request an appointment

About this task

If your care provider has an active Secure Health Messaging account, you can use the Appointment Request window to request an appointment with them. When you complete and send an appointment request, the request is sent to your care provider through Secure Health Messaging.
Note: You can only send appointment requests to care providers who have been set up to receive appointment requests from patients.


  1. In the To: drop-down field, select the care provider for your appointment.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Complete the fields on the window.
    Note: You should note the care provider's office hours when selecting a date and time for your appointment request.
  4. When you are finished, click Send Request. The appointment request is sent to your care provider.
